Big But Budget Weddings

Last night, my husband told me to write something about budget weddings. Apparently, he is kind of concern about the whole big and expensive wedding trend in the Philippines. You see, Jeff and I got married in 2012. We had about 230 guests and about 50 people who helped us make our wedding possible. To top it off, we (only) spent around P400k. Well, P400k is still a lot of money, but hey, at least it’s not P1,000,000. Haha! So what was our secret on spending less for our wedding? I am not really sure. We initially allotted P500k for the wedding, to which my parents strongly disagreed. You know, I come from a not wealthy family. We are not really poor, but we just get by everyday. And my parents came from a time where you can just spend P5,000 for a wedding. That’s in the early 80’s by the way. So imagine my parents’ horror hearing P500k. On Philippine Weddings and More

A few weeks after I received Jeff and I’s engagement photos from Framed-Up Production in 2011, I emailed a certain wedding blog/website if I can send them the photos and if they can feature it. I have adored our prenup photos. I have never seen a basketball prenup ever. So I thought, maybe this will be interesting enough for them. Photos by Mot Rasay of Framed-Up Production Jeff and I are different in so many ways. But if there’s one thing that we’re so alike, it is being basketball crazy. It was just fitting to pick it as our engagement session theme. I had our uniforms made — his was the standard basketball jersey, while mine was a jersey dress with petticoat skirt. I sew lace on my socks and I made a bouquet of white flowers. I even sew a veil to a sports headband. I had another set of jersey made because I thought of the whole ‘draft’ thing, and well, I will be drafted to his team soon. We had our prenup …

The J’s Are Hitched!

It was a great day. April 20, 2012 is when Jeff and I tied the knot. I am now officially Misis Tagle! Here are some of the photos that our photographer, Mot Rasay of Framed-Up Production took.
