Eat. Pee. Sleep. (Or my life the past nine weeks)

The past nine weeks have been amazing. Technically, I’ve only been pregnant for five weeks because that’s when we learned about the pregnancy. I love being pregnant. I love that I can wake Jeff up in the middle of the night just because I want to eat something, or that he really tries to find everything that I want to eat. I’ve got a very excited father-to-be right there. The thing is, I only do three things the most — eat, pee, and sleep. According to what I read and contrary to popular belief, pregnant women don’t eat for two people. Technically, you only eat for 1.3 people. It’s just adding 35% on what you normally eat. I am not quite sure if I am eating properly. I just eat what I want to eat. One time, I wanted to eat paksiw na bangus at 3AM. The other time, I wanted to eat small, toasted pandesals for breakfast. I also noticed that although I get hungry more often (my hungry schedule is 7AM, 9:30AM, 12NN, 2:30PM, 6PM, …

Bucketlist #9: Bundle of Jeff and Joy

A few days ago, Jeff and I finally announced that we are expecting our first child. It was a long journey of waiting and trying, and it is finally here. Let me tell you the story of how we actually got pregnant. I used to go to Asian Hospital for my check ups. My OB there was my doctor for about six months. She was the one who prescribed me to take metformin. After three months of taking the metformin she gave, I got tired of all the stomachache and throwing up. It was also a bit hard to find her on some days. Sometimes, I file leaves only to find out that she’s not going to the clinic. I decided to find a new OB. I went to Healthway Greenbelt 5 in September 2013 and the OB on duty was Dr. Cheryl Roces-Barrameda. To my surprise, she is also a sonologist. I read somewhere before that it is advisable to have an OB-Sono so she knows what’s really going on inside your ovaries. Haha! So …

Recipe: Fishball Sauce Kalye Style!

The last few weeks have been crazy for me. Being pregnant is crazy, but I love it! Haha! I started having weird cravings like paksiw at 3AM, siopao, and donuts. Good thing Jeff is always to the rescue and get me anything that I want, on the spot! The other day, I craved for the fishballs that are being sold in the market. Jeff didn’t allow me to eat that, so the solution was to buy fishballs in the supermarket and make our own sauce. Photo from iamthecook.blogspot.com I browsed the internet and found one written by Michelle Ignacio of Certified Foodies. I followed her recipe but it was too sweet for me so I added vinegar. I am sharing the recipe here, but I don’t have photos haha! I was too eager to eat them fishballs once they were cooked. Ingredients 4 cups water 2 tsbps cornstarch 2 tsbps all purpose flour 3/4 cup brown sugar 4 tsbps soy sauce 2 tsbps vinegar 1 red onion, minced 4-6 cloves of garlic, minced 1 siling labuyo, chopped (optional) 1tsp salt Steps: 1. …

Team Tagle is Expanding!

And so as my tummy. We’ve been keeping this secret since January 20. Until now, my heart still swells everytime I remember that we are indeed blessed with this little surprise. Yes, after twenty one months of waiting, we are finally pregnant! As of this writing, I am seven weeks pregnant, according to our little Taglet’s size during our first ultrasound. Yes, that’s what we are going to call him or her while he or she is inside my tummy — Taglet. Why? Because he or she is our piglet. A Tagle piglet. TAGLET! Haha! I am not taking my announcement on Facebook because once upon a time, I used to cry on every single pregnancy announcement that I see on my wall. I don’t want to bring such pain to those who, like me, are having problems conceiving. I would regularly write about this journey here on my blog and I’ll just post links on Facebook. I will not bombard you with ultrasound pictures and morning sickness posts on your feeds. Friends, we would like to …

How to manually install Flappy Bird on your Android phone

So the creator of Flappy Bird, Dong Nguyen, finally pulled out the popular app from the App Store and Play Store. Those of you who didn’t get the notice, you may refer to his tweet below: I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I will take ‘Flappy Bird’ down. I cannot take this anymore. — Dong Nguyen (@dongatory) February 8, 2014 Such a sad news, wasn’t it? But I’ve got great news for those who are very late to party with this famous bird. Jeff taught me a few months ago how to install apps on my Android phone without the use of the Google Play Store, and I’m going to share this with you. 😉 Ladies and gentlemen, here’s how to install Flappy Bird on your Android phone even if it was already taken down from the Play Store. And friends using Apple devices, I don’t know how to help you. Haha! This hack only works for Android users. Maybe you can just buy that second hand iPhone 5 on eBay with preinstalled Flappy Bird …

The Vision Board

Before 2013 ended, Jeff told me that we should make a vision board to set our goals for 2014. Giddy about my new stylus, I said I am going to draw mine instead of the normal cut and paste from the magazine. He said he’s opting for the cut and paste as he has no talent on the arts department. Well, I don’t have much, too. Just so you know, Jeff hasn’t made his vision board yet. Haha! 1. Continue my Strappit business. I must admit that I kind of relaxed a little towards the end of 2013. The last quarter of the year was a little stressful for our family so that lead to me being a little lazy to produce more Strappits. This year, I plan to get a sewer that will make this for me so I can just sit down at home and sleep all day. Hahaha! 2. Have a red car. There’s a red car here at home, but it definitely is not mine. LOL! I’ve always wanted a red …
