JACKS Dinner at Army Navy

Every year, my girls and I schedule a Christmas dinner. We’ve been doing it since 2005. Last year, were at Abe in Bonifacio High Street. This year, we just settled for a burger place because of our very complicated schedules. We dined at Army Navy in Glorietta 5. The morning before this, Jeff and I were in Tarlac to fetch my niece so he’s kinda tired with the drive. I also saw this kind of sign at Mexicali in Megamall. Do they really have to teach people how to eat burritos? Haha. Jeff, being the non-conformist (haha!), ordered the chicken. It looked good and big but it was too salty and a little spicy for me. I’m not a fan of salty food, so I won’t order this ever here in Army Navy. And being a burger monster, I ordered a burger! LOL! It was big, and I wasn’t able to finish it. I loved the black sesame seeds on top, though it doesn’t count much. 😀 Anne, Kitt and Camille also ordered burgers. The …

Vieux Chalet: A Swiss Piece

So twenty days after my birthday is Jeff’s big sister’s birthday. Their family decided to celebrate it in my neck of woods here in Antipolo when Jeff suggested Vieux Chalet. I was surprised they even decided to stay in their hotel, St. Moritz Inn. Vieux Chalet is owned by the Hassig family. I know two of their kids because we went to the same high school. True to it’s word, the place is very nice. It’s pretty old and really has a European feel. And the food tastes good too. No, not good, it tastes great! Pumpkin soup. It has a rich and creamy flavor. It goes well with the crunchy side dish (it looks like chicharon or something) served with it. Kalamansi shake that Tita Letty ordered. Beef steak with cream sauce. They serve their meat with grilled potato slices that looks like pancakes. The potatoes were cooked well and it’s so yummy. It’s at the bottom of the steak. Fish. I think this is dory. Or salmon. Not sure. It’s also served with …

Burger Avenue at A. Venue

Today is yet another burger day. We stopped by the radio station where Jeff is doing his part time stint as a DJ to record his Christmas message, but I dunno what happened. We ended up eating lunch at Burger Avenue across the street. The radio station is near A. Venue along Makati Ave. I am a fan of grilled/charboiled burgers, and I feel like Burger Avenue tastes like Hotshots. Or maybe it’s just me. Onion rings were so big and it wasn’t covered with a lot of flour. Just right. Though just like any other onion rings, they are too oily. Price: Php55.00 French fries.  Price: Php55.00 Jeff got the big bacon cheeseburger meal. I’d get the bigger one for him if there is. Haha. Price: Php160.00/Jr Php198.00/Regular I got the regular blue cheese meal. The burger patty was grilled, so it tastes like smoke which I like. It tastes authentic. Haha.
